The doors open at 2:00pm and the show opens on stage. Ryan Alford and Steve Greenberg take the Mike Berkus Memorial Stage for the first two and three-quarter hours of the 46th National — interviews with the people who move this hobby, and giveaways worth showing up early for.

This is the same information arranged the way you'd actually use it — what each one does at this show, what it costs, when submissions close, and a booth number that opens the map on the right table.

Every on-site tier has a submission cutoff, and most fall at noon or 2pm. Saturday is the last day several of them run at all — check the deadline column on each card before you plan a Sunday drop-off.

Field guide

How to work the floor.

01

Walk the floor once before you buy anything

It is bigger than it photographs. The single most common regret is spending the first-day budget in the first three aisles, then finding the same card cheaper on Friday. Do a full lap, note booth numbers, then go back.

Early entry is about access, not gifts

The 5-Day Early Entry pass buys 60 minutes ahead of the crowd each day and explicitly includes no gifts or autograph tickets. That hour is the entire product — worth it if you are buying, not if you are browsing.

03

Bring cash, and bring a way to take payment

Cash still moves deals on the floor faster than anything, and the best trades happen between attendees rather than at a booth. Assume patchy signal in a hall that size and do not count on tapping a phone for everything.

Trade night is its own event

The show floor closes and the trading keeps going. If you are coming to trade rather than buy, the evening sessions are where the volume is — plan your days around them rather than treating them as an afterthought.

Know what you own before you get there

Grading and authentication run on site, and the lines reward people who arrive with submissions sorted and expectations set. Decide what you'd sell and at what number before someone offers you a number.
