It is the default market for Lombard Jr. right now, which makes it useful as a benchmark but not particularly interesting as an entry. At 117% up and 19.7x velocity, it is fully priced for the promotion.

The Paper Prospects #BP-79 at $3.17 is the right call for collectors who want exposure without overcommitting. It is up 72.9%, the smallest percentage gain of any format, which means it absorbed less of the promotion premium than its Chrome counterparts. Volume is real: 345 sales in seven days against 54 prior. If Lombard Jr. holds the starting job, this card has the most room to close the gap with where Chrome is already trading.

The Mega Box Chrome at $16.47 is the correct choice if your goal is liquidity. It has already more than doubled, but the Mega Box exclusive carries a collector premium that tends to hold better in a secondary market because the supply ceiling is lower than standard hobby. If you need to move the card in three months, this is the version that will have buyers.

Here is the part that matters more than any of the prices above: all four of these cards are 2024 Bowman prospect issues. None of them carry a true rookie card designation. The RC premium, the one that historically produces the most durable long-term value for a player who sticks, lands when Lombard Jr. appears in a licensed MLB set with a proper RC logo. That has not happened yet.

Collectors who chase the Bowman spike and then stop watching are buying the preview and skipping the main event. The smarter move is to treat the current window as a short-term positioning opportunity and set a separate watch for his first appearance in a 2026 licensed MLB set. That card, whenever it surfaces, is where the lasting premium has historically lived for players who establish themselves.
